The renowned dance company kicks off the summer with the brand new New York Spectacular. The show follows a family vacation in which Emily and her younger brother, Jacob, get lost in New York City. The two children reunite with their family aided by iconic New York City landmarks and statues that come to life. From the cackling Mad Hatter to the greedy Wall Street Bull, the miniature recreations of the show are a marvel as they bring personality to the monuments that embody the city.

Combined with creative uses of lighting and theater walls, the show immerses the audience around a virtual and realistic New York City, transporting the viewer from Central Park to Ellis Island. The most interesting replica was the rapping New York Public Library Lions, whose prose combined witty jokes and life advice.

While these high-tech additions are a crowd pleaser, the star attraction, as always, proves to be the Rockettes, who deliver exhilarating numbers to arrangements of classics such as “Singing in the Rain” as well as more modern hits like “Empire State of Mind”. It's a great show for all age and a New York City classic.

When he is not attempting to hustle the hustlers of Central Park, Joshua enjoys exploring the depths of what New York has to offer. He one day hopes to pilot a drone without immediately crashing it.
