Beginning this fall, a new collection of ancient artifacts from the Egyptian renaissance period will be on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The new exhibit, titled "Ancient Egypt Transformed: The Middle Kingdom," will be the first comprehensive presentation of Middle Kingdom art and culture, and will feature many items that have never been shown in the U.S., according to museum officials.

Museum patrons will be able to view over 230 pieces from the Met's own collection, and 37 on load from other museums and private collections across North America and Europe.
