The Cycle, a Film About a NYPD Officer That Wrongfully Shoots a Kid and is Cleared of Wrongdoing

The Cycle is a short film from storytelling studio Already Alive that tells the fictional yet familiar story of an officer in the NYPD who wrongfully shot a teenager, then walked away cleared of all wrongdoing.

The goal of the film is to tell an emotionally powerful story to instigate genuine conversation around the issue of fear and how it contributes to violence in our communities. We continue to hold screenings of the film followed by conversation. Local community members can have their voices heard to facilitate policy changes in how communities and police react to violent situations. We hope to be one of the many tools used to help break the cycle of violence through productive dialogue.

The film stars Ade Otukoya as Jacob.
