The "1" and "6" New Years Eve Lights Arrive Early in Times Square

Landmark Signs & Electric brought the 7-foot-tall “1” and “6” New Years Eve lights out to Times Square a bit early for testing and to give tourists an opportunity to snap a photo with them.

The “1” and “6 that will soon make up the giant illuminated “2016” sign arrived on the back of a truck and were on display all day — popular with tourists eager to get a photo with the centerpiece of the world’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration.

According to officials, the “2” and “0” should arrive in the next few days.
