Today, May 14th, 2015, is the first ever "Free Ride Day" for the entire Citi Bike system!

Sponsored by Switzerland Tourism, you can score a free day-pass from any Citi Bike kiosk for today only.

On Thursday May 14, Switzerland Tourism invites New Yorkers to experience the fun and freedom of bicycling in honor of Bike-to-Work Week. From 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM, Citi Bike day-passes will be available for free at any Citi Bike station kiosk. This is the first time a partner has provided a free day of Citi Bike passes.

To ride for free, you simply use a credit card (needed to hold a security deposit and for late fees) to get a day pass, but the normal $9.99 charge will not hit your card today.
