St. Patrick's Cathedral Interior Restoration Complete; Ready For Papal Visit

Love it or hate it, everybody is talking about Pope Francis visiting the City this week.

As part of the preparations for the papal visit, restoration on our beloved St. Patricks Cathedral was rushed along, and is finally complete and free of scaffolding, inside and out!

St. Patrick Cathedral's restoration had begun in 2012 and lasted 3 years at a cost of $177 million. It was finally completed this past Thursday, September 17, just in time for Pope Francis' visit on Friday September 25, 2015. The restoration included cleaning the exterior marble, repairing stained glass windows, and painting the ceiling, among many other reconstructions.

Enjoy these great shots of the freshly-restored St. Patrick's Cathedral interior.
