It's hard to believe, but esteemed NYC Actor Robert De Niro was once a little boy. Although he is known for many things over his lengthy career, his piercing stare is one of his most well known attributes, helping land him in roles which portrayed him as the New York "tough guy" such as in The Godfather II, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas amongst others.

De Niro seems to have been born with this stare, or at least to have perfected it by 1950, when the above photograph of the 7 year-old was snapped. This photo, along with many others, was revealed in the HBO documentary about Robert De Niro's Father: Remembering The Artist Robert De Niro Sr.
