This Lower East Side Shop Serves New York City’s Most Beautiful 100% Vegan Desserts

Rawesome Treats is a unique vegan dessert shop on the Lower East Side that serves only a selection of completely uncooked and raw sweet treats. In this recent episode of the excellent Eat Seeker series from our friends at Thrillist, take a peek at their offerings, and hear from owner Watt Sriboonruang on why she started the shop.

When Watt Sriboonruang first started creating raw vegan desserts, they tasted like cardboard. At the time, she was training hard as an amatuer muay thai boxer but still craving desserts. Her goal was to eat a little cleaner but still be able to reward herself with delicious treats after her intensive muay thai training. She tested out her choco mango pie, red velvet cake, and black sesame pie on her teammates who continued to encourage her to make more and more vegan desserts. And so Rawsome Treats was born.
