There is a lot of stuff going on the City, and we can't write about it all. Here are some interesting things some of our friends have written up lately.

Remembering Brooklyn's Most Densely Cluttered Bookstore With The New Yorker

Closed in 2016, Community Bookstore was a small privately owned bookshop that opened on the corner of Court and Warren in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, over 30 years prior by owner John Scioli. What makes the bookstore well-known is not its age though, it's the clutter.

Over the years, the store has grown into a medley of stacked books, scattered toys, vintage records, and cultural debris, all of it floating in an apparent chaos intelligible only to the store’s enigmatic owner. The store has no traditional storefront or open hours, the gray windows haven’t been washed for years, and no signage indicates that the store is still open for business.

Check out the full article from 2016 in the New Yorker for more on Community Bookstore and its unfortunate closing.
