Local transit historian and railfan Dj Hammers makes tons of great videos showing how subway transit works and runs in the City.
In this recent upload, DJ Hammers took the "Ghosts of the Elevated: Myrtle Avenue & Williamsburg" tour offered by the New York Transit Museum and filmed the abandoned upper level of the Myrtle Avenue subway stop in Bed-Stuy.
The upper level of Myrtle Avenue served Myrtle Avenue El trains bound for downtown Brooklyn. When the line south of Myrtle Avenue was discontinued on October 4th, 1969, the upper level was abandoned, but not torn down. Later on, a maintainers quarters and signal relay room was built on the platform.
