News from Home is a 1976 documentary created by filmmaker Chantal Akerman that uses scenes of the City as a backdrop for the reading of letters written to the filmmaker from her Mother while she was living in the City.
It was an artsy film back in the 1970s and while still moving, the film serves more as a time capsule now showing neighborhoods all around 1970s New York City.
