Lower Manhattan's Old Cortlandt Street Subway Station Reopens as WTC Cortlandt Station

The Cortlandt Street 1-train subway station in the Financial District was completely destroyed during the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. Closed since then, the station has recently been completely repaired and restored, opening again for the first time just this week, nearly 17 years later.
