SmokyMountains.com recently created this great interactive 2021 Fall Foliage Map using an algorithm that computed several million data points from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The chart ingests millions of data points and distills these using an advanced algorithm to 48,000 data points. This data is then displayed graphically in an interactive map that users can utilize to determine the precise time foliage will peak anywhere in the continental US.
According to this data, New York City should see peak fall foliage in the days surrounding October 11th, 2021. Check out the full map to see how the fall foliage peak levels change throughout the nation with time.
