Here's the MTA's Special "VakTrak" Vacuum Subway Train in Action

Local transit historian and railfan Dj Hammers makes tons of great videos showing how subway transit works and runs in the City. In this recent upload to YouTube, Dj Hammers captures one of the more elusive specialty trains in the MTA's fleet, the "VakTrak" subway vacuum train.

The MTA's "VakTrak" Vacuum Train sucks up trash from the subway tracks. Trash can cause track fires, which disrupts service, so the Vacuum trains are a very important aspect of the operations of the system.
