Help Save Nolita's Elizabeth Street Garden at Tonight's Public Hearing

Construction of a new affordable housing project on Elizabeth street is a welcomed addition to the area, but the developers of the project are also considering removing the beloved public Elizabeth Street Garden in the process.

We face a real threat that the Garden could be razed for development, but we can stop it with your help. Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC) is considering a grant to New York City Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) for an affordable housing project at Elizabeth Street Garden.

There is a public hearing today at 4:30pm at 245 Greenwich St, 13th Floor where members of the public are invited to share concerns about development and the garden.

If you cannot make the hearing, please visit the Elizabeth Street Garden's webpage for more info on how you can help preserve a little greenspace in Nolita.
