Heartwarming Story of Homeless Mom and 3 Kids Getting First Apartment in New York City

Even with a full-time job earning $17k per year, Shakira Crawford and her three children lived in a homeless shelter in East New York due to the City’s affordable housing crisis.

Shakira Crawford – a working mother without a place to live. She left an abusive marriage and lived with her 3 kids in a homeless shelter. She struggled to find an apartment month after month but didn’t give up.
