Black-Owned Restaurant Month

I DON’T DO CLUBS is an event blog started by Genese Jamilah out of the City that writes for young urban professionals who are looking for social events beyond the typical nightclub scene.

Earlier this summer, Jamilah began a series of articles that highlights Black-owned businesses around the country, and now she is taking it to the next level.

Building on this momentum, Genese decided to curate Black-Owned Restaurant Months (#IDDCBORM) starting in New York City in September 2015. Since 1992, the original Restaurant Week has introduced millions of foodies to new and exciting eateries and become an international institution. Why not bring this same movement to the Black community?

Black-Owned Restaurant Month is set to run from September 9th through September 30th. Check the event page for more info.
