Food critic Robert Sietsema recently visited the most popular food courts in Manhattan for Eater magazine, then published a comprehensive guide telling you what to expect from the markets, what you should, and what you should not order while there.

The best food is to be found at the Plaza Food Hall and Gotham West Market. The worst food overall is at the Grand Central Dining Concourse. Urbanspace Vanderbilt and the Plaza Food Hall are currently tied for most popular, with Hudson Eats a close second. The best seating by far is at Hudson Eats. The saddest food court — but also the most relaxing — is Gansevoort Market
