Completely Colorblind New Yorker Uses Special Antenna to Hear Color

Neil Harbisson is a artist and self-described "cyborg" living here in the City. He was born with a rare condition that makes him permanently colorblind to all colors, but has a special antenna surgically grafted to the back of his head that picks up light frequencies and tranposes them onto the audio spectrum. In other words, he can hear color.

In this video from New York filmmaker Greg Brunkalla, Harbisson talks about being a cyborg, talks with strangers about the technology, and explores a bit of the City, hearing it's color through sound.
