Chinese New Year Parade Draws Thousands in Chinatown New York

This past weekend was a continued celebration of last Thursday's lunar new year, a.k.a Chinese New Year. Despite an extra cold winter in New York, thousands of people came out to the 16th annual New Years Parade in Manhattan's Chinatown to celebrate, set off fireworks and enjoy a good meal.

The 16th Annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade in New York took place over the weekend as thousands of people joined in the festivities. The parade was roughly 6,000 people strong and included city officials, community groups, the New York Fire Department, and different cultural organizations.
