Check Out This Video Slideshow Showing The Creation of Battery Park City

The Skyscraper Museum has an interesting new exhibit titled Millennium: Lower Manhattan in the 1990s which, amongst other things, includes this silent slideshow documenting the creation of the Battery Park City neighborhood in the Hudson River. Why would a museum about skyscrapers be telling that story you ask? Well, the landfill to create the new neighborhood came directly from the excavation for the footprint of the original World Trade Center.

The new exhibit can be seen at the Skyscraper Museum, located in lower Manhattan's Battery Park City at 39 Battery Place. Museum hours are 12-6 PM, Wednesday-Sunday. General admission entry is only $5, with discounts for students and senior citizens.
