Check Out This New York City Neighborhood Map as Drawn by Thousands of New Yorkers

Part of a data visualization on how to represent uncertainty over space. this interesting New York City neighborhood map show the neighborhood borders and boundaries as drawn by thousands of locals, allowing us to see where ambiguity lies.

In 2015, DNAInfoNYC asked thousands of readers to draw the outline of their neighborhood. As with the prostate slide, there are uncertain boundaries and underlying tissue/streets. The sketchy outlines work naturally; here each outline is one person’s drawing of a neighborhood.
