Check Out These Kids Skateboarding All Around 1984's New York City

New York City in the 1980's wasn't the best place to be. Crime was up, the City was dirty, buildings were abandoned and squatters ruled the Village. But not everybody was having a bad time in 1984…

Vimeo uploader Jimmy recently posted this great vintage skate video from 1984 that shows a bunch of kids doing tricks all around the City, taking over sidewalks and having a blast.

One belongs to New York instantly, one belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years. As for me, quite simply, I was in love with New York from the very first day. I do not mean “love” in any colloquial way, I mean that I was in love with the city, the way you love the first person who ever touches you and you never love anyone quite that way again.

PS: them kids can flow
