Check Out These Amazing Infrared Photographs of Central Park

Professional photographer and graphic designer Paolo Pettigiani started taking pictures with an infrared camera in his hometown of Avigliana in Torino, Italy. After he perfected the craft and moved to New York City, Pettigiani focused his lens on the beauty of Central Park with an amazing collection called Infrared NYC.

‘The purpose is to highlight the majesty and the contrast of nature included in the famous Big Apple’s skyscrapers,’ Pettigiani says. for the project ‘Infrared NYC’, Pettigiani continues his exploration of infrared landscapes.

The camera's infrared filter makes the darker tones pink and the brighter colors turquoise resulting in the light cotton candy feel in these photos. The human eye cannot see infrared light naturally, so this collection is an fascinating "unseen" view of Central Park.
