Opened to the public in 1910, the Manhattan Bridge is the youngest of the three Lower Manhattan/Brooklyn bridges. It carries over 450,000 commuters to and from Manhattan every weekday, with over 75% of those coming from subway and bus trips. Much less crowded with tourists than the nearby Brooklyn Bridge, it is also a preferred method for bikers to cross into lower Manhattan.
