A Look Inside the New York Philharmonic's Second NY PHIL BIENNIAL

This year the NY PHIL BIENNIAL reaches farther and wider to explore today’s music. Alan Gilbert has worked closely with The Marie-Josée Kravis Composer-in-Residence Esa-Pekka Salonen to create an even greater representation of curatorial tastes, this time spanning three weeks, with ensembles from around the country and across the Atlantic. As Alan Gilbert said: “This project is perhaps the ultimate manifestation of our desire to support the work of today’s composers, and to bring together a variety of viewpoints to achieve something even greater than any one organization can accomplish.”
