The 13-foot high, 1-ton solid bronze Captain America statue is set to be unveiled in Prospect Park this Wednesday August 10 from 1 to 3pm. As part of the occasion, Captain America: Civil War will be shown as part of Prospect Park's "A Summer Movie Under the Stars" program.

Following the dedication ceremony, Marvel and Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media will host a free community event open to the public featuring Captain American inspired activities, snacks, photo locations, and more.

The statue will be located at the Children's Corner of Prospect Park for two weeks before moving around a bit. After the two-week stop in Prospect Park, the Captain America statue will move to the plaza outside Barclays Center for September. From late October through the remainder of the year, the statue will adorn the soon-to-be-opened Bed Bath & Beyond in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
