World's Oldest Person Lives in Brooklyn at an Incredible 115 Years Old

Last week, the previous holder of the World's Oldest Person title passed away peacefully in Detroit, passing the title down to our own 115-year-old Brooklyn resident Susannah Mushatt Jones.

Daily News reports:

Jones had no idea Sunday that she was the second oldest person living and was surprised to learn later in the week that she now holds the crown as oldest human. She has long been the oldest person in New York City and has been fêted annually with a party at her senior center in East New York. This year's celebration is on July 7.

July 6th is Jones' birthday, on which she will celebrate 116 years of life.
