World's First Underground Park Inches Closer to Reality on the Lower East Side

The Lowline is an urban enrichment program that plans to place a naturally lit underground park in the Lower East Side of Manhattan where public space is desperately needed. See how the project is inching closer to reality in this video from BRIC TV.

The Lowline will be the world's first underground park. Conceived by James Ramsey and Dan Barasch, The Lowline is a plan to use innovative solar technology to illuminate an abandoned trolley terminal on the Lower East Side of New York City. Their vision is a stunning underground park, providing a beautiful respite and a cultural attraction in one of the world’s most dense, exciting urban environments.
