With President-Elect Donald Trump opting to split time between the White House and Trump Tower, the security required to protect him here is causing quite a controversy. New Yorkers don't want to have to foot the half million dollar per day bill, and a Republican-led Congress refuses to help pay.
In this video from our friends at The Real Deal, watch how the extra security presence is sparking rage in local New Yorkers affected by it.
President-elect Donald Trump's decision to split time between the White House and his penthouse at Trump Tower means that Fifth Avenue will be flooded with Secret Service and NYPD for the foreseeable future.
My solution: Leave him and his family unprotected. Let the secret service and Trump worry about protecting himself when here in the City, and place our NYPD out in the streets where they can protect real New Yorkers.
