Vintage Photographs Show "The Deuce" in 1970s New York City

For better or worse, almost nothing about Times Square and 42nd Street is like it was in the 1970s, when it carried the nickname "The Deuce". Once full of adult video stores, peep show theaters, XXX movie theaters, prostitutes and pimps, the area has completely transformed into a massive, corporate, temple to Disneyfication. While definitely safer and cleaner, almost no New Yorker wants to head to Times Square anymore. Couldn't we have landed some place in between? Check out this collection of photos from "The Deuce" in the 1970s.
