Professional baseball pitcher Satchel Paige is considered one of the all-time greatest pitchers in the history of the sport. He started playing before Jackie Robinson, in an era before black players were allowed in the big leagues, bouncing around the Negro League from team to team every year. In 1941, he was on the New York Black Yankees (yes, that was a real team name) playing in Harlem. This great vintage photograph shows Paige sitting on a Harlem street in that year.
