Kesté is a small pizzeria in Greenwich Village which serves up authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas using a wood-fired oven. The restaurant is a Michelin selection on the NYC Bib Gourmand list of excellent and affordable restaurants.
In this short video from Munchies' excellent Pizza Show, host Frank Pinello heads over to Kesteé to see what its all about.
The earliest pizzerias in New York were an unintentional byproduct of Italian immigrants who came to America in search of new opportunities. Now, over 100 years later, that opportunity is pizza. In the early 2000s, Roberto Caporuscio immigrated from Italy and opened Kesté Pizza & Vino in Greenwich Village. He has dedicated his life to preserving the traditions of Neapolitan pizza.
