[VIDEO] NYC Apt Tour: Product Designer’s Custom Storage Enhanced Condo

Christina Goldschmidt is a product designer, UX leader, tech mentor, and neurodiversity advocate who lives in New York City’s Battery Park in an 859-square-foot condo. Before moving in 4 years ago, Christina renovated the two-bedroom apartment to fit her unique needs.

Christina has elevated the concept of white cabinetry and storage systems more toward an art gallery aesthetic, thoughtfully showing off the form and artful quality of her extensive collections. For her living room gallery wall, she used Adobe Illustrator to layout each piece, adjusting and balancing them digitally before ever picking up a hammer. Our favorite detail: the backlit built-in shelf above the frames where her beautiful collection of vessels and pottery are displayed. What a great solution for unused space where beauty is always on display!

In this video Christina unpacks why walnut is her favorite wood for furnishings, how she worked with Etsy shops to commission custom pieces, where she sourced the perfect antique chandelier, and what style of hosting is uniquely enjoyable to her. We hope you find much inspiration in Christina’s artful home.
