This Artist Draws Quirky Monsters Next to People on the New York City Subway

Local digital artist Ben Rubin (previously) spends a lot of time riding the New York City subway to work every day. To help pass the time, the artist draws quick doodles on top of real photos using his iPad, then publishes them all onto an amazing Instagram account.

The artist began drawing various furry monsters on his iPad back in 2011 as a means to pass time while commuting from Brooklyn to Manhattan. As the name suggests, his art is mostly focused around the New York subway but sometimes extends into the busy city above. So far, Subway Doodle has gathered over 157k followers on Instagram and we’re sure you’ll become one too after seeing his art.
