From its founding as [New Amsterdam](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Amsterdam in the 1620’s, New York City has always been a bustling hub for both America and the world. Nearly four centuries later, society has notably evolved and the City has with it.

In the early 20th century, cameras began documenting the liveliness of the city for the first time. A lot has changed since then, but the energy of New York remains the same.
