Local transit historian and railfan Dj Hammers makes tons of great videos showing how subway transit works and runs in the City. In this recent upload to YouTube, Dj Hammers captures one of the MTA's R160 train cars with the new flip-up bench seats that are raised during rush-hour traffic to increase capacity.
Here we see a J train utilizing a consist of R160 cars that have been retrofitted with seats the flip up and lock in the up position during the rush hour to provide additional capacity.
