Urban Natured / City Raised Group took to the streets on Thanksgiving to make and distribute meals to
some of the City's undomeciled as part of the #ProjectFeedNYC project. On their blog post
on the project, they wisely say:
...we also want to remind you that we should be aware and give thanks to all our blessings each and every day, not just one or a couple days a year. Appreciate the people you love, the job you have, and the food you eat every day, because there are millions of people throughout the world who don’t know here their next meal will come from.
Many of us volunteer on Thanksgiving, but ignore the other 364 days of the year.
If you are looking to volunteer in the City, NYC Service is a good place to start.
