Add "rising ocean levels" to the list of New Yorkers' concerns, because the city is sinking, a new study finds. The study says that New York City is literally sinking under its own weight. “We can’t sit around and wait for a critical threshold of sea level rise to occur, because waiting could mean we would be missing out on taking anticipatory action and preparedness measures,” said Andrew Kruczkiewicz, a senior researcher at Columbia University’s Climate School.
