The New York Landmarks Conservancy's excellent Tourist in Your Own Town series explores some of New York City’s best hidden gems as well as some of the classic iconic landmarks. In this video from the series, watch as host Peg Breen takes a look at the Financial District's Museum of American Finance on Wall Street.

Visit this unique museum that chronicles the development and achievements of America's financial system. The Museum of American Finance is housed within a landmarked 1929 building designed by Benjamin Wistar Morris that was once the Bank of New York & Trust Company. The Museum features displays on the financial markets, money, banking, entrepreneurship and Alexander Hamilton, as well as rotating exhibits.

[VIDEO] Take a Tour of Picturesque Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island

Fort Wadsworth is a former military base on Staten Island's East Shore. Situated perfectly to guard New York Harbor, the fort has operated as a military base from the American Revolution all the way up until 1995. Over the past few centuries, several factions of the military have called it home, most recently, the US Navy from 1979 to its closing in 1995. Currently, the fort is a National Park and is operated by the National Park Service.
