After Hour Flowers is a Upper West Side flower shop that is home to New York City's only 24-hour flower delivery service. Whether you forgot a birthday, got into a late night romantic spat, or simply work night shifts, this shop promises delivery to most neighborhoods within two hours, any time of night. New York's 300,000 night workers help keep the city that never sleeps on its legs, providing for New Yorkers' needs, from the most basic to the quirkiest. Be it for a forgotten birthday or an apology bouquet, people can order flowers round the clock from Marlon Monteczuma, the city's only 24-hour florist. His business, After Hour Flowers, serves customers from a small room in the basement of a hotel on the Upper West Side. NyCityLens followed and filmed Marlon's floral night shift.
One Manhattan Square is a controversial super-tall tower being built by Extell Development in Two Bridges at the base of the Manhattan Bridge. At 80 floors, the 850-foot-tall building towers over every other building in the neighborhood by about 75 floors. The building will stand 72 stories or 850 feet (259 m) above the street, and will possibly have a new supermarket in the tower's base. A 13-story affordable housing component will be located separately on-site from the main tower,and completion is currently expected in 2019.
