The World Trade Center plaza just got a big splash of color! Street artists have been commissioned from around the world to paint a large barrier owned by Silverstein Properties that, until now, was an ugly silver tin color. What do you think?

Artists have taken over Lower Manhattan. Silverstein properties invited various talents from around the world to create murals near the World Trade Center’s Oculus. The ugly sliver tin barrier that sits near Tower Two has been transformed into a colorful work of art.

This great vintage photograph of actor James Dean is a colorized version of an iconic shot captured by photographer Dennis Stock for the March 7, 1955 issue of LIFE magazine. The original photograph ran with the following caption:

Walking in rain, Dean wanders anonymously down the middle of New York's Times Square. His top floor garret on Manhattan's West Side is no more home to him, he says, than the farm in Indiana. But he feels that his continuing attempt to find out just where he belongs is the source of his strength as an actor.

James Dean died less than 7 months later, on September 30th, 1955.
