[VIDEO] Learn All About the Rare Blooming of the Corpse Flower at the New York Botanical Garden

Better known as the corpse flower due to its putrid scent of rotting flesh, the Amorphophallus titanum is a large 6-foot plant which has a rare once-a-year bloom for a day or two. The blooming flower's smell attracts bugs, allowing for its pollination over that short period or time. As the flower only blooms for 24-36 hours once-per-year, it can be easy to miss, so the New York Botanical Garden has one on display under a 24-hour live-stream to stay up-to-date. Learn more about the flower in this short video from the botanical garden.

A new corpse flower is here and nearing bloom in 2018, and just as we enter summer! Get to know a little more about this strange and beautiful plant before your visit.
