POV Timelapse Video Shows New York City Subway's A Express Line to Rockaway Park

Local transit historian and railfan Dj Hammers makes tons of great videos showing how subway transit works and runs in the City. In this recent upload to YouTube, Dj Hammers captures the A Train from Inwood, Manhattan to Rockaway Beach, Queens, all from the front of the car, and in a 20x time lapse taking about 5 minutes for the entire trip.

The A line of the New York City Subway provides express service between Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. It has three southern branches; Lefferts Boulevard, Far Rockaway, and Rockaway Park. The branches that run to Far Rockaway and Rockaway Park are especially interesting, as they travel over a causeway and two bridges that traverse Jamaica Bay.

The A line currently uses R32 and R46 type cars, with a single set of R68/A-type cars also used during the PM rush hour. The R32s have a passenger-accessible front window, which allows for a great view out of the front of the train. This allowed for this video to be taken. Enjoy!

Maddy and Caroline get lost by the Home Depot in Bed Stuy and wind up talking art and and accents with high-brow comedian Connor Creagan. Will he put up with their tomfoolery? Will Maddy and Caroline stop at Home Depot after the shoot for potting soil? WATCH AND FIND OUT!
