This vintage photograph from 1921 shows a street scene from East 14th street near Irving Place, looking towards the north side of the street. There is a crowd formed outside of the music shop waiting in anticipation for the release of the Victrola Record player. "New features included an improved crank handle, along with a revolutionary anti-skip mechanism." Unfortunately, this entire block was demolished, eventually replaced with the current Zeckendorf Towers. Here is a Google StreetView of how the view from the same approximate angle looks today:
