Architect Jug Cerovic and his mapping and wayfinding consulting company Inat have created a full series of impeccably designed Metro Maps for New York City and other large metropolitan areas.

Metro maps are much more than mere functional diagrams to me, I consider them works of art that shape our mental image of the city and contribute to an iconic shared identity. I have created 40 unique, beautiful and efficient subway maps for 45 metropolises using a common graphic language in order to offer a new perspective as well as a platform for the exploration and enjoyment of the underground world.

You can order full-sized prints of this New York City Map and others on Inat's online shop.

Massive Brazilian Modern Exhibition Coming This Summer to New York Botanical Garden

Brazilian Modern is a massive new exhibition coming to the New York Botanical Garden this summer that celebrates and displays the living art of famous Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx.

Roberto Burle Marx (1909–94) was a force of nature in Brazil—through his bold landscapes, vibrant art, and passionate commitment to plant conservation. His powerful modernist vision produced thousands of gardens and landscapes, including the famous curving mosaic walkways at Copacabana Beach in Rio and the beautiful rooftop garden at Banco Safra in São Paulo. Feel his artistic energy and love of plants during our Garden-wide exhibition of lush gardens; paintings, drawings, and textiles; and the sights and sounds of Brazil that inspired his life and work.

The exhibition is open from Saturday, June 8th through Sunday, September 29th. Check out the exhibition page for more info.

[WATCH] 46 NY Ice Cream Trucks Seized in Alleged Fine Dodging Case

Investigators in New York City seized dozens of ice cream trucks after operators were accused of evading more than $4.5 million in fines since 2009.

The 46 trucks, apparently operated by New York Ice Cream, were towed from 34-31 11th Street and at the corner of Vernon Boulevard and Broadway in Long Island City Wednesday.

The operators targeted by "operation meltdown" allegedly violated thousands of traffic safety laws, and instead of paying fines, created dozens of "shell" companies to avoid enforcement efforts, according to a press release from Mayor Bill de Blasio's office.
