[WATCH] Reading of a 1933 Vintage Newspaper Article on Inwood: "A Reporter at Large"

Cole Thompson runs a fantastic local blog titled My Inwood which is, you guessed it, all about Manhattan's Inwood Neighborhood. In this recent video, Thompson reads an article from 1933 in which a reporter visits the isolated neighborhood and reports back to their readers.

In 1933 writer Morris Markey visited Inwood for the "A Reporter at Large" column in the New Yorker. This narration of Markey's 1933 piece is accompanied by historic photos of the places and people described by the writer. While Markey takes a few artistic liberties, most of what he describes is accurate. The Inwood region is located on the northern end of of the island of Manhattan.
