NYU Film Scoring Graduate Students Busk in the Subway With "Gypsy Jazz"

Two NYU graduate students studying film scoring have taken to the subway to busk for fun and profit. Violinist Jordi Nus and guitarist Pedro Curvello have been playing a unique blend of folk and alternative music, a style they dub "Gypsy Jazz."

While Curvello’s dulcet tones and guitar playing add energy to the performance, people are also drawn to the sounds pouring out of Nus’ violin (which he’s had for 15 years). Like a river, the music varies in its ability to sweep or soothe, depending on the song.
