New Renderings of the Futuristic Pier 55 Park

Pier 55 has been getting a bunch of press lately, and it hasn't even been built yet. Billionaire Barry Diller's $170 million pet project is to convert a rotted old pier, long since destroyed down to it's pylons, into a massive and futuristic floating public park. The design group just released some new renderings of what it will look like, and it really is something spectacularly different for the City. If all goes well, the park will begin construction in 2016.
