Meet You Bred Raptors?, The Mask-Wearing Instrumental Rock Busking Trio

Rhythm in Motion is a new 10-part series of short profile films that are centered around New York City subway buskers. The project is associated with the MTA's Music Under New York (previously) initiative.

In this episode, the series profiles You Bred Raptors?, a local three piece instrumental busking band crafted with an 8-string bass, a cello, drums and two glockenspiels, all while wearing masks.

"You literally have about two and a half seconds to capture somebody's attention when they're running to the train," says Peat Rains, one of the band members. "If you don't catch them in that time, they're gone forever." He describes the band's style as a mix of post-rock, classical, metal, and folk. The music contains no lyrics because that way "our music can be about anything."

You Bred Raptors? music is available for download on iTunes.
